Volunteers empowering seniors through compassion
Faith in Action Steuben and Chemung counties is a coalition of congregations, civic groups, and individuals working together to serve older adults in need a little assistance to continue living independently. This support is provided at no charge to the recipient by caring volunteers, selflessly giving their time and compassion to others.
Faith in Action STNY was founded in Hornell, NY in 1995. At first, we were serving in the towns of Hornell, Arkport, and Canisteo, but we began expanding to western Steuben in 2003. After a few more years, in 2007, we were reaching eastern Steuben as well. Our growth in 2024 resulted in expansion into Chemung County. Starting with only 3 zip codes in 1995, we currently serve in all zip codes in Steuben and Chemung counties.
